From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from Jamie-Lee. She showed us around and provided all the necessary information. The rooms were large, extremely comfortable, and set to a cozy temperature, perfect for winter. We had a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was attentive. We enjoyed delightful snacks paired perfectly with our drinks from the bar. Breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful variety that left us completely satisfied. Highly recommend for a memorable visit!

Lovely property, huge room/bathroom, great professional staff extremely knowledgeable of the town, activities, wineries, history, etc., and so willing to help to make our stay comfortable. Great breakfast as well. Location is at the heart of the lovely town where we can walk around even in the dark, which is not quite common in the country. Can't say enough about this property and the staff!!!!

Amazing people hosting us in a great place. Unbelievable hospitality, honesty bar with great selection. Breakfast buffet was so good that we never made it to the warm breakfast options. All ingredients are local, the selection just amazing. The rooms are spacious, clean, everything u need is there and minibar stacked with good options for a decent price. But the staff is the best - this is what moves it from wonderful to perfect at this place. Thanks for an unforgettable experience!

Avondrood is a small boutique hotel, which is well positioned in a nice, safe neighbourhood in the centre of Franschhoek. We booked this hotel as opposed to one of the larger ones, hoping to receive the personal touch and we were not disappointed as every member of staff really went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable and memorable stay. I even had a cake baked for my 60th birthday, which shows how much they value their customers! I can't see a large corporate hotel doing the same or even considering it.

We loved everything about this property! It is 5 minutes walk into town centre where there are lots of great restaurants and shops. Whole area, and guest house itself felt very safe . Beautiful historic building which is elegantly furnished. and very well appointed. We were upgraded to room with private garden and direct access to lovely pool area- very special . Excellent breakfast served on terrace and very well stocked honesty bar in beautiful lounge area . Lots of other little touches to make your stay comfortable. Staff were very professional and helpful- welcoming us with a complimentary drink , booking restaurants, giving us lots of information and advice etc. We can’t recommend highly enough - this was the best guest house of our 2 week stay in South Africa.

The rooms were incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated with high-quality materials, creating a luxurious and comfortable atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of – from the abundance of plush towels to the inclusion of bathing salts for a relaxing soak. The room was fully equipped with everything you could need. On top of that, the hotel has the best location in Franschhoek!

Breakfast was far beyond expectations. Because it is included in the price, we didn't expect too much. It was fantastic. We had to leave an hour earlier than breakfast started, and at no stage was it a problem for the night staff to prepare an early breakfast, every bit as tasty as the day before. Thx

The location is great - 5 mins walk to the centre of Franschhoek, the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area (Jamie-Lee was amazing and provided great recommendations for vineyards, restaurants and hikes), the rooms are really well appointed and clean and the breakfast buffet is superb with great quality produce.

Cost, quiet but near the main road. Breakfast was generous with both hot and continental dishes. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Nice hot tub for a late afternoon dip post wine trams. Everyone seems very eager to please.

Location was prime. Carlos was just over and above every thing in every good way! He made the whole experience beautiful. We felt like absolute queens. We will be back in a heart beat! Thank you Carlos! The breakfast was delicious too.. the fire place with wine and backgammon - picturesque to say the least! A true gem!
